Find courses that inspire and challenge you – and also fit into your schedule! While studying at RSM, you may have significant options in terms of which courses you take. You have the Regis St. Michael’s course offerings, along with courses from the Toronto School of Theology and interdisciplinary options through the University of Toronto. Contact the Dean’s Office (rsm.theology@utoronto.ca) for help with approval on course selections, course mapping, program changes, approval for special course requests or to apply to write a basic degree research paper or thesis.

The John M. Kelly Library houses the theological collections of Regis and St. Michael’s College. It includes comfortable individual and group study spaces and features large humanities and social science collections. The Kelly Library offers a range of services for students and faculty including: research and writing help;  Personal Librarian; Syllabus; and Kelly InfoExpress services.  

Book an appointment the Kelly Library’s Academic Success Centre for writing and research help. They offer support such as:

Any conjoint basic degree student of a member college of the TST may appeal (a) a decision by their college or by the TST as to their success or failure in meeting an academic standard or other academic requirement of the college or the TST; (b) a decision by a college concerning guidelines for course marking; and (c) a decision as to the applicability to their case of any academic regulation of a college or the TST, including University academic regulations that are administered by the college or the TST. Graduate (advanced degree) students are governed by the appeals policy of the GCTS Conjoint Degree Handbook (Sec. A.11 Academic Appeals). 

All RSM students are subject to the Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters. The Code deals concerns the responsibilities of all parties to the integrity of the teaching and learning relationship. Honesty and fairness must inform this relationship, whose basis remains one of mutual respect for the aims of education and for those ethical principles which must characterize the pursuit and transmission of knowledge in the RSM and the wider university.

If you are an advanced degree student, you can apply to use study carrels here.

Study carrels (with lockable desks) are available within the Regis St. Michael’s building for advanced degree students. Preference is given to doctoral students writing their dissertations. Carrels are assigned for one academic year at a time (from September 1 to August 31) and you may reapply twice, for a maximum of three years. Depending on the number of applicants, you may be asked to share a carrel. Applications are due by the second Friday of September.  

To ensure the fair allocation and security of the library carrels, we ask you to abide by the carrel rules: 

• Return your carrel key by the end of the academic year or you will forfeit your key deposit. 
• Do not “sublet” or “share” your carrel with anyone else unless you are formally sharing your carrel. 
• If your carrel is not used for more than four weeks (except in the case of a reasonable absence) the carrel will be reassigned..

Use this form if you are a basic degree student registering a major research paper for the MTS program.

Use this form if you are a basic degree student making your thesis proposal. 

In order to graduate in November, you must submit an application to graduate by the first Friday in September. The application fee is $100. 

If you have questions about meeting your program requirements, contact your faculty advisor or the director of your program before applying. 

Your application triggers the Student Services Officer to review your academic record to grant a degree, diploma or certificate. After verifying your academic record, the Dean’s Office will confirm your eligibility to graduate in late September. 

Submitting your application will ensure your name is submitted to the St. Michael’s College Senate or Regis College Academic Council once you have successfully completed your studies. Find the application here.
