A warm, dedicated and welcoming student community at Regis St. Michael’s continues to be the hallmark of our student experience. Spiritual life and Campus Ministry

Faith is lived here—in liturgy, prayer and service. You can participate in mass, prayer services, retreats, spiritual direction and faith-sharing groups. Campus Ministry offers opportunities to engage in social justice initiatives and service-learning experiences.

Events and gatherings

From public events and academic lectures to community meals and seasonal celebrations, there are always ways to gather, learn and connect with your classmates, professors and staff. Many events are planned and led by students including: pub and trivia nights, sports events, guest lectures and special liturgies.

Student leadership

The RSM Faculty of Theology Student Council is committed to an integrated spirituality, a faith that does justice, critical dialogue and academic excellence. It is a representative student government that fosters communication and peer counselling, promotes student interests, coordinates student activities and provides students with opportunities for participation in communal prayer.

Prayer gatherings

Prayer is the anchor that grounds all our work as Student Council. While all our meetings start and end with prayer, the heart of the community is the weekly celebration of the Eucharist to which all students are strongly encouraged to participate.

Liturgical Celebrations: Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Chapel (in the Regis College building, 100 Wellesley St. West).

Membership & meetings

All students enrolled at Regis St. Michael’s Faculty of Theology are eligible to be members of the Student Council. The council’s leadership team is elected annually and includes positions such as President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and program representatives.

Student Council meetings are held three times each semester. They give students an opportunity for open discussion on important issues and are a way to become involved in activities. The Council is a liaison between the students and the faculty. All students are welcome to attend meetings and are encouraged to volunteer to help with social and academic functions.

International Student Assistance

Students come from dozens of countries and sometimes need extra information and support. The International Student Representative on Student Council coordinates informal opportunities to exchange information, and strategies to adapt to Canadian society and a new academic environment. For inquiries or support contact rsm.dean@utoronto.ca.

In addition to an annual orientation to the library, critical reading and academic writing for all incoming students, we offer a specialized Orientation for International Students every September. If you would like to attend, check your U of T e-mail address for updates, or contact the Dean’s Office directly.
